Jacuzzi® pH Down is a granular product specifically formulated to decrease the pH and total alkalinity levels in hot tub and spa water, ensuring optimal water balance and a safe, comfortable soaking experience.
Necessity for Hot Tub Care & Personal Health
Maintaining the appropriate pH level in your hot tub is crucial for several reasons:
Sanitizer Efficiency:
Proper pH levels enhance the effectiveness of sanitizers like chlorine and bromine, ensuring the elimination of harmful bacteria and pathogens.
User Comfort:
Balanced pH prevents skin and eye irritation, providing a more comfortable and enjoyable spa experience.
Dosage & Frequency
To adjust the pH levels using Jacuzzi® pH Down:
Test the Water:
Use test strips or a testing kit to measure the current pH level. The ideal pH range is between 7.2 and 7.8.
Determine Dosage:
If the pH is above 7.8, add 1 ounce (approximately 28 grams) of pH Down per 400 gallons (approximately 1,514 liters) of water.
Application:
With the circulation system running, add the measured pH Down directly to the spa water.
Circulate & Re-test:
Allow the water to circulate for 30 minutes, then retest the pH. If it remains above 7.8, repeat the process.
Safety Precautions
Protective Gear:
Wear gloves and eye protection when handling Jacuzzi® pH Down chemicals.
Ventilation:
Ensure the area is well ventilated during the shock treatment to avoid inhaling fumes.
Storage:
Store Jacuzzi® pH Down products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
