Jacuzzi® pH Down

Jacuzzi® pH Down is a granular product formulated to lower pH and total alkalinity in hot tub and spa water. Balanced water chemistry ensures sanitizer effectiveness, protects spa equipment, and provides a safe, comfortable soaking experience.

Why pH Balance Matters

Maintaining your hot tub’s pH in the ideal range (7.4 – 7.6) is critical for:

  • Sanitizer Efficiency: Proper pH allows chlorine or bromine to kill harmful bacteria effectively.
  • User Comfort: Balanced water prevents skin and eye irritation.
  • Equipment Protection: Avoids scaling, corrosion, and premature wear on pumps, heaters, and jets.

Dosage & Application

One capful from the 1 kg container ≈ 30 g. The required dose depends on your water volume and current pH level:

Dosing Chart for Jacuzzi® pH Down

Use this chart to adjust your spa water. Always circulate for 30 - 60 minutes and re-test before adding more.

Spa Volume pH 7.8 – 8.0
(30 g / 1000 L)
pH > 8.0
(60 g / 1000 L)
750 L ~23 g (¾ cap) ~45 g (1½ caps)
1000 L 30 g (1 cap) 60 g (2 caps)
1250 L ~38 g (1¼ caps) ~75 g (2½ caps)
1500 L 45 g (1½ caps) 90 g (3 caps)
1750 L ~53 g (1¾ caps) ~105 g (3½ caps)
2000 L 60 g (2 caps) 120 g (4 caps)

Quick Tip: Add gradually, allow circulation for 30–60 minutes, and re-test. Over-correction can make pH too low and require Jacuzzi® pH Up to rebalance.

Application Steps

  1. Test the water: Use LaMotte 3-Way Test Strips or a kit to measure pH.
  2. Measure: Use the chart above to calculate dosage.
  3. Add: Sprinkle Jacuzzi® pH Down evenly across the water surface with circulation running.
  4. Re-test: After 30 minutes, re-check pH and repeat if necessary.

Safety Precautions

  • Wear gloves and eye protection when handling chemicals.
  • Store in a cool, dry location away from sunlight and children.
  • Never mix with other chemicals in concentrated form.

By incorporating Jacuzzi® pH Down into your regular maintenance routine, you’ll keep your water balanced, your equipment protected, and your soaks more enjoyable.
